The Disney’s Park Pass Reservation System Explained
When heading to Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resorts, Guests will need to have purchased a park ticket (learn more about the different types of park tickets here) and a Disney Park reservation for the park they would like to visit on the day they would like to visit. When Disney Parks reopened after the COVID shutdown, they implemented a new Disney Park Pass System. This system is built to help with managing guest attendance and will continue to be required for all guests for the foreseeable future. This means that all guests will need a valid Park Pass or Annual Pass AND a Park Reservation for every day of their vacation!
Park Reservations can be made online or in the My Disney Experience App, and depending on how involved you’d like to be, you can make the reservations yourself or have me do them for you!
HOW DOES DISNEY’S PARK PASS RESERVATION SYSTEM WORK?
FIRST STEPS
Prior to making your Parks Reservations you’ll need a few things ready to go.
If you’re going to Walt Disney World you’ll need:
A My Disney Experience Account (Learn More) - If you don’t have one already, I’ll help you set this up after booking! This account is incredibly important because it gives you access to all of your Disney plans, dining, resort, Genie+ services and so much more.
A valid Theme Park Ticket or Annual Pass that is linked to your My Disney Experience account.
If you’re going to Disneyland you’ll need:
A Disney Account (Learn More) - If you have an account through MyDisney Experience, you can use that same login on the Disneyland App. If you don’t have a Disney account, I’ll help you set this up after booking! This account is incredibly important because it gives you access to all of your Disney plans, dining, resort, Genie+ services and so much more.
A valid Theme Park Ticket or Annual Pass that is linked to your Disney account and Disneyland App.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
Guests who purchase a Park Hopper ticket or annual pass with Park Hopper benefits are able to visit more than one park per day after 2 PM.
A park reservation must be made for each day of entry. This means if you’ve got 5 park days, you’ll need to make reservations for each day.
It is strongly recommended that you make your park reservation as soon as you complete your ticket purchase, as availability can change until the reservation is finalized. And depending on when you are going, busy times like Holidays may lead to some parks reaching capacity for guests.
Disney Park Pass reservations unfortunately cannot be modified. But if you decide you want to go to a different park, I highly suggest you first check on the availability of reservations for your new desired park. And if they have availability for your whole party, you can cancel your original reservation by visiting “My Plans” in MyDisney Experience and the Disneyland app. Then you can book the new one.
Please note that park reservations are limited in number and subject to availability. Availability can change until the park reservation is finalized, so make sure you take this into consideration when booking.
