BREAKDOWN: DISNEY PARK TICKETS

DISNEY TICKETS EXPLAINED

Going to the parks but unsure of what type of Disney Parks Tickets to purchase? Not to worry! In this post, I’ll explain each type of Disney ticket so that you can decide which type of park ticket is best for your trip!

Reminder: A valid park ticket and park reservation are both required for entry to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort!

Disney Ticket Options:

Base Ticket - Standard Park Ticket

Available: Walt Disney World and Disneyland

Visit 1 Park per day. Ticket is valid for the full day, so yes - you can leave and come back to the same park!

Park Hopper Park Ticket

Available: Walt Disney World and Disneyland

Visit multiple parks throughout the same day. As long as you have a Park Reservation for the first park you want to visit and you check in at that park, then you can visit any other park you’d like after! There’s no limit to the number of parks you can go to so in Walt Disney World you have the option of going to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom and in Disneyland you can hop from Disneyland to California Adventure and back!

Park Hopper Plus Park Ticket

Available: Walt Disney World

This option includes the Park Hopper listed above as well as giving you access to the two water parks Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach (check availability prior to purchase).

Plus, you get a certain number of visits to other Walt Disney World entertainment based on the length of your visit. For example, a 4-day ticket allows 4 visits and a 5-day ticket allows 5 visits. For each visit, you can choose one of the following:

  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

  • ESPN Wide world of Sports Complex

  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course – FootGolf

Played over Disney’s 9-hole golf course, FootGolf combines the excitement of golf with the fast-paced nature of soccer for a unique experience. The precision sport requires players to kick a soccer ball into a cup, in a similar fashion to regular golf, using as few attempts as possible.

  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course

Enjoy a 2,913 yard, par 36, 9-hole walking course with fun for everyone, from developing golfers to experienced players. Greens fees only.

  • Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (prior to 4PM)

Play one round of miniature golf (prior to 4:00 PM) at a fun course inspired by the Disney classic film Fantasia.

  • Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course

Treat yourself to one round of miniature golf (prior to 4:00 PM) at either of 2 Santa Claus-themed courses

Water and Sports Option

Available: Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Resort has 4 exciting theme parks to explore—Magic Kingdom park, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With the Water Park and Sports option, you can visit one theme park each day of your ticket.

Plus, you get a certain number of visits to other Walt Disney World fun based on the length of your ticket. For example, a 4-day ticket allows 4 visits and a 5-day ticket allows 5 visits. For each visit, you can choose one of the following:

  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park (Currently Unavailable)

  • ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (Currently Unavailable)

  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course – FootGolf

  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course

  • Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (prior to 4PM)

  • Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course

Each of these tickets get you into the magic in different ways! And which ticket is right for you or your crew, depends on what you value most in your vacation. If you're looking for flexibility in visiting various parks - consider the park hopper. If you're little ones LOVE water parks - consider the water and spots options for more entertainment options.

I personally prefer to splurge on the Park Hopper - I find the convenience of spending my mornings in one park and then having the flexibility to hop around for dinner or nighttime entertainment to be worth the additional cost. But I have yet to try the Park Hopper Plus and I think I'll be giving those waterparks a try soon!

Hopefully this post helped breakdown the different types of tickets available to you at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. If you still want to talk through your options, or would like advice - I'm here for ya! Just send me a message.
