BREAKDOWN: DISNEY PARK TICKETS

Going to the parks but unsure of what type of Disney Parks Tickets to purchase? Not to worry! In this post, I’ll explain each type of Disney ticket so that you can decide which type of park ticket is best for your trip!

Reminder: A valid park ticket and park reservation are both required for entry to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort!

DISNEY TICKET OPTIONS:

Base Ticket - Standard Park Ticket

Available: Walt Disney World and Disneyland

Visit 1 Park per day. The ticket is valid for the full day, so yes - you can leave and come back to the same park!

Park Hopper Park Ticket

Available: Walt Disney World and Disneyland

Visit multiple parks throughout the same day. As long as you have a Park Reservation for the first park you want to visit and you check in at that park, then you can visit any other park you’d like after! There’s no limit to the number of parks you can go to so in Walt Disney World you have the option of going to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom and in Disneyland you can hop from Disneyland to California Adventure and back!

Park Hopper Plus Park Ticket

Available: Walt Disney World

This option includes the Park Hopper listed above as well as giving you access to the two water parks Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach (check availability prior to purchase).

Plus, you get a certain number of visits to other Walt Disney World entertainment based on the length of your visit. For example, a 4-day ticket allows 4 visits and a 5-day ticket allows 5 visits. For each visit, you can choose one of the following:

  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

  • ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course – FootGolf

Played over Disney’s 9-hole golf course, FootGolf combines the excitement of golf with the fast-paced nature of soccer for a unique experience. The precision sport requires players to kick a soccer ball into a cup, in a similar fashion to regular golf, using as few attempts as possible.

  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course

Enjoy a 2,913 yard, par 36, 9-hole walking course with fun for everyone, from developing golfers to experienced players. Greens fees only.

  • Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (prior to 4PM)

Play one round of miniature golf (prior to 4:00 PM) at a fun course inspired by the Disney classic film Fantasia.

  • Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course

Treat yourself to one round of miniature golf (prior to 4:00 PM) at either of 2 Santa Claus-themed courses

Water and Sports Option

Available: Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Resort has 4 exciting theme parks to explore—Magic Kingdom park, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom park, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With the Water Park and Sports option, you can visit one theme park each day of your ticket.

Plus, you get a certain number of visits to other Walt Disney World fun based on the length of your ticket. For example, a 4-day ticket allows 4 visits and a 5-day ticket allows 5 visits. For each visit, you can choose one of the following:

  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park (Currently Unavailable)

  • ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (Currently Unavailable)

  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course – FootGolf

  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course

  • Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (prior to 4PM)

  • Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course

HOW TO MAKE A DISNEY PARK RESERVATION

When heading to Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resorts, Guests will need to have purchased a park ticket (learn more about the different types of park tickets here) and a Disney Park reservation for the park they would like to visit on the day they would like to visit. When Disney Parks reopened after the COVID shutdown, they implemented a new Disney Park Pass System. This system is built to help with managing guest attendance and will continue to be required for all guests for the foreseeable future. This means that all guests will need a valid Park Pass or Annual Pass AND a Park Reservation for every day of their vacation!

Park Reservations can be made online or in the My Disney Experience App, and depending on how involved you’d like to be, you can make the reservations yourself or have me do them for you!

HOW DOES DISNEY’S PARK PASS RESERVATION SYSTEM WORK?

FIRST STEPS

Prior to making your Parks Reservations, you’ll need a few things ready to go.

If you’re going to Walt Disney World you’ll need:

  1. A My Disney Experience Account (Learn More) - If you don’t have one already, I’ll help you set this up after booking! This account is incredibly important because it gives you access to all of your Disney plans, dining, resort, Genie+ services and so much more.

  2. A valid Theme Park Ticket or Annual Pass that is linked to your My Disney Experience account.

If you’re going to Disneyland you’ll need:

  1. A Disney Account (Learn More) - If you have an account through MyDisney Experience, you can use that same login on the Disneyland App. If you don’t have a Disney account, I’ll help you set this up after booking! This account is incredibly important because it gives you access to all of your Disney plans, dining, resort, Genie+ services and so much more.

  2. A valid Theme Park Ticket or Annual Pass that is linked to your Disney account and Disneyland App.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • Guests who purchase a Park Hopper ticket or annual pass with Park Hopper benefits are able to visit more than one park per day after 2 PM.

  • A park reservation must be made for each day of entry. This means if you’ve got 5 park days, you’ll need to make reservations for each day.

  • It is strongly recommended that you make your park reservation as soon as you complete your ticket purchase, as availability can change until the reservation is finalized. And depending on when you are going, busy times like Holidays may lead to some parks reaching capacity for guests.

  • Disney Park Pass reservations unfortunately cannot be modified. But if you decide you want to go to a different park, I highly suggest you first check on the availability of reservations for your new desired park. And if they have availability for your whole party, you can cancel your original reservation by visiting “My Plans” in MyDisney Experience and the Disneyland app. Then you can book the new one.

  • Please note that park reservations are limited in number and subject to availability. Availability can change until the park reservation is finalized, so make sure you take this into consideration when booking.
